Approval of Minutes

Treasurer's Report
Dave Hupman presented the CISA Revenue and Expense Report for 2011 (available upon request). The 2012 budget is the same as 2011. Rob Reid motioned to accept the report as presented, Bob Simpson seconded. The report was accepted unanimously.
Umpire Association's Report
Darryl Helmer discussed the challenges the Umpire's Association has with the CISA. There was one incident during the 2011 season involving a verbal threat to an umpire that was addressed by the league. Treatment of umpires for the upcoming season is expected to improve. The Umpire's Association has difficulty finding umpires to coach men's games due to past behavior of players on men's teams. Each team is responsible for their players' behavior and are expected to treat umpires with respect.
A clinic for new umpires will be held in April (date to be determined) and Darryl recommends having a representative and/or problem players attend to learn rules and have discussions with current umpires. As a reminder, the CISA encourages players within the league to become umpires by paying for their equipment.
If a team wishes to file a complaint against an umpire, a form will be available on the CISA website which can be filled out and sent to the Umpire's Association. An umpire may also file a complaint against a player or team by sending a written complaint to the appropriate CISA Director to be dealt with by the Discipline Committee.
President's Report
Jesse Williams presented the status of grants and improvements to the ballpark. The Parks Foundation
Amateur Sport Grant has been applied for and expected to be received in full. The roofs of the clubhouse and bathrooms have already been replaced and new fencing is expected to be complete prior to the start of the 2012 season. Trenching for the new bathrooms is expected to begin in the fall of 2012.
