CISA Discipline Committee Terms of Reference
Purpose:
To ensure that Calgary Industrial Fastpitch Association provides a safe and fun league for all players, fans, league officials, team coaches and managers, and umpires by reviewing any events of a disciplinary nature or for a game protest in a timely and consistent manner.
Objectives:
To provide a fair and reasonable process to handle complaints regarding misconduct
To review any properly filed game protests in a timely manner
To maintain safety and fairness
Committee Members & Structure:
This committee reports to the executive
The chairperson is appointed annually by the executive
The members include the Vice president of each of the men’s and women’s divisions, the umpire liaison and the director responsible for the division under discussion.

The membership will vary, depending on the nature of the complaint under review
Note – in the event that a VP or Director has a direct relationship to a disciplinary situation, they will be replaced on the committee by the chairperson or the league president.
The chair will be responsible for facilitating the meetings and communication of any outcomes of discipline.
Key Duties and Responsibility:
To review any reported incidents of a disciplinary nature within 72 hours whenever possible
To rule on suspensions, ejections, misconduct of any people attending or participating in games at the Industrial fastpitch diamonds.
To communicate to the treasurer any fines levied against teams or players.
Committee Authority:
The committee has the authority to take any action deemed necessary to protect the sport, the league and all our members and fans, including (but not limited to) warnings, suspensions, or fines.
Meetings:
The committee will meet at the call of the chair, in response to an incident.
